These terms apply to everyone who uses California RCFE Finder (rcfedirectory.com), which is operated by RCFE Directory(“we”). By using the site, you agree to them. Care homes that claim a listing or buy a website also agree to our care home terms.

1. What the directory is

A free directory of care homes licensed by the California Department of Social Services (CDSS), with information from public state records and from the homes themselves. We aren't a placement or referral agency: we don't place, refer, or recommend residents to any home, and we don't take referral fees. We also don't provide care or inspect homes. Read our disclaimer for the limits of the information we show.

2. Using the site

  • Use the site lawfully and only for its purpose: finding and comparing care homes, or managing your own home's listing.
  • Don't send false, harassing, or unlawful messages, or pretend to be someone else.
  • Don't overload the site, try to get around its security or spam protection, or use automated tools to copy it in bulk. Search engines may index public pages.
  • We may block access or remove content that breaks these terms or the law.

3. Messages to care homes

When you message a home, we send it to that home only. You're responsible for what you write, and you agree the home may contact you about your message. Please don't include medical information. Any arrangement you make with a home is between you and that home; we aren't a party to it.

4. Our content and public records

The site's design, guides, summaries, and software belong to RCFE Directory. You're welcome to link to any page and to quote short passages with credit. State records are public; we present them as CDSS publishes them. Photos and text from care homes belong to those homes or their licensors.

5. Photos and copyright

Care homes must only upload photos and text they took, own, or bought a license to use, and they confirm this every time they upload. If you think something here uses your photo or writing without permission, email contact@rcfedirectory.com with the page address, what you own, and how to reach you. We'll review it promptly and remove material that shouldn't be there.

6. Privacy

Our privacy policy explains what we collect and the choices you have.

7. No warranties

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that information is complete, accurate, or current, or that the site will always be available or free of errors.

8. Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, RCFE Directory isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for decisions you make based on the site, including choosing or not choosing a care home. Our total liability for any claim about the site is limited to the greater of $100 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have that can't be limited by law.

9. Changes

We may update the site and these terms. When we change the terms, we'll update the date above; the new terms apply from then on.

10. Governing law

California law governs these terms, and disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in California.
