State records can change

  • License, inspection, and citation details come from the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) and may lag behind the state's own system. Always confirm a home's current status on its official CDSS report, linked from every listing.
  • We aren't affiliated with CDSS or the State of California, and we don't inspect homes.
  • A home with no citations listed may still have had problems, and a citation may have been corrected since. Read the report and ask the home.

Information from care homes

Photos, prices, services, openings, phone numbers, and other details on a claimed listing come from the home. We confirm that the person claiming a listing is connected to the home, but we don't verify every detail they add. Confirm prices, services, and openings directly with the home before you decide.

Homes that pay us to build and host their website are listed first, together, in a random order that changes every day, and each is marked “Paid listing”. We never spotlight one home over another. After them, results are sorted by how well they match your search, then A to Z. Paying says nothing about a home's quality, and it never changes the state information we show.

Fair housing

Listings are subject to the federal Fair Housing Act and California fair housing law, which make it illegal to advertise a preference, limitation, or discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, ancestry, familial status, source of income, disability, veteran or military status, genetic information, or other protected traits. We don't knowingly publish listing content that does, and we remind care homes when their wording may. If you see a listing that states a preference like this, tell us and we'll review it.
